Shigeru Aoki and the Late Victorian Art
29 April [Fri] - 29 May [Sun], 1983
About this exhibition
English art from the latter half of the 19th century had considerable influence on Japanese Western-style painting around the turn of the century. This exhibition was the first attempt to demonstrate the relationship by hanging their works side-by-side with the Pre-Raphaelites. It included a total of 86 works: 50 by Aoki.
