We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who have passed away as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and extend our sympathies to all those who have been impacted.

 

The Artizon Museum will reopen on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, after its temporary closure to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The closing caused the postponement of the three concurrent exhibitions listed below. The museum continues to provide a satisfying space for appreciating the works on display while paying extreme care to prevent spread of the virus among staff and visitors.

Hours: 10:00 – 18:00 (Last admission 30 minutes before closing)
* The museum will not be open in the evenings for the forseeable future.
Closed: Mondays (Open August 10 and September 21, national holidays), August 11, September 23

[1] Artizon Museum measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19

  1. Using our designated time and date reservation system to limit the number of visitors during each time slot and prevent congestion while providing a pleasant environment for appreciating the exhibitions
  2. Use of the latest HVAC system to control the flow of air and constantly provide intake of fresh air.
  3. Audio guides are available via the visitor’s smartphone and earphones, not a rental device.
  4. The museum will be closed in the evenings for the forseeable future.
  5. Disinfectant will be placed at the entrance to the museum for visitors’ use. All facilities will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. High-touch surfaces in elevators, on escalators, in the restrooms, and on the lockers will be cleaned and disinfected more frequently.
  6. All museum staff members will wear masks or shields when guiding or otherwise interacting with visitors.
  7. Transparent shields will be placed at the 1F ticket counter and the 3F cloakroom.
  8. Where visitors must line up, guides for maintaining at least a one-meter distance will be provided.
  9. Use of the Digital Collection Wall and the tablets in the Info Room and viewing catalogues in the Info Room will be suspended for the forseeable future.
  10. Leaflets and other materials will not be handed directly to visitors but placed where they can be picked up.
  11. The Learning Program (Gallery Talks, Family Programs, Saturday Lectures, School Programs, etc.) will be suspended for the immediate future.

■ Museum Cafe
Hours: 10:00 – 18:00 (last order at 17:30)

* Now open only on museum opening days; closed when the museum is closed

  1. For the time being, the cafe will be open only on museum opening days.
  2. Staff members will wear masks when interacting with visitors.
  3. Seating of customers face to face will be avoided as much as possible; single direction seating or spaces between seats will be provided.
  4. The number of customers will be limited to avoid crowding.
  5. All utensils, tables, chairs, and other equipment will be thoroughly disinfected.

 

■ Museum Shop

Hours: 10:00 – 18:00 (last order at 17:30)

* Open only on museum opening days; closed when the museum is closed

  1. Staff members will wear masks when interacting with customers.
  2. A transparent shield will be provided at the cashier counter.
  3. Where visitors must line up, guides for maintaining at least a one-meter distance will be provided.
  4. The number of customers will be limited to avoid crowding.
  5. Samples will not be available for examination for the immediate future.

 

[3] Requests of Visitors

  1. Please wear a mask when visiting the museum.
  2. Please refrain from visiting the museum if you have a fever, symptoms of a cold, or are feeling unwell.
  3. Please cooperate with temperature taking at the entrance to the museum. Customers with fevers or symptoms of a cold will not be allowed to enter the museum.
  4. Please cooperate by using our system for online reservations by designated date and time.
  5. Visitors purchasing same-day tickets at the ticket counter will be asked to record their names and contact information (telephone number, address, email address).
  6. Please use cashless means of payment.
  7. Please do not come to the museum in groups.
  8. When observing the works on display, please maintain distance between yourself and other visitors and refrain from conversation in the galleries.
  9. When coughing or sneezing, please cover your mouth with your mask or a handkerchief.
  10. Please cooperating by washing your hands and disinfesting your fingers frequently.
